I was raised in Philadelphia in a neighborhood of row houses. As far as a young girl could see, there were houses connected to houses. I have joyful memories of rides with my Mom to places where there were "all trees and no houses." I dreamed of one day looking out my kitchen window and seeing "just trees and horses."
Today, I have deep roots at Phillippi Quarter Horse Farm by the shores of Lake Michigan. My life abounds with professional and personal successes and challenges. Years of working as a registered nurse, participating in a nurturing marriage, raising our two sons, and caring for the many creatures that live on our farm, have shaped me into the woman I have become.
Our daily parenting responsibilities have been replaced with frequent calls and journeys to Texas, the home of our sons. And while there are still cats, dogs, horses, deer and wild turkeys, the harmony of the farm has changed ... the symphony of the barnyard has softened.
I am blessed with an innate creative talent that was quiet until my eldest son was an infant. I began painting on wood to make gifts for friends and family. Their praise and approval of my work encouraged me to expand my creations. Today my art embodies years of evolving skills, which have been deepened by my life experiences.
In a sunlit area of my kitchen I continue to create pieces of art whose inspiration comes from my family, my friends and all my wonderful animals. The creative fire glows with renewed spirituality and inner peace.
Each wooden piece comes alive with its own personality. As diverse as nature, no two are exactly alike, which makes each a collectors item.
